This photo was taken of my mother when she was about 90 years old.   One day while visiting her I just wrapped my red scarf around her neck and snapped her photo.  She had Alzheimer’s and passed away  a couple of years after this photo was taken.  In the original photo there was a lot of shadow on her face.   As I was creating this piece I was going to eliminate those shadows but then decided against it.   It makes me think of how the Alzheimer’s creates such a shadow over the lives of everyone it touches.   This piece is about 24″ x 36″.
